How did you know about TamTamy ?

During a digital marketing course at my university, Università della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, I met Luca Bartolini and Luca Miccoli  at a guest lecture about Foursquare and geo-targeted communication. I found it interesting to learn about Foursquare’s best practices showing examples of Jimmy Choo in London and Starbucks, how brands use social media to improve their integrated marketing communications and how they engage with customers.

For me it triggered my pursuit to better get to know the world of social media and networks from a company perspective, therefore it was a great chance to approach TamTamy.

What have been the motivations/interests that pushed you to apply for an internship with us?

TamTamy is a relatively young and in its growth phase, as well as heavily involved in creating social networks.

For me as a Marketing student it is interesting to get to know the offering and service of TamTamy, its interaction with customers and its development. Plus it’s a great opportunity for me to work in an international environment in the fascinating city Milano.

What are you doing during these weeks in TamTamy?

I have been focusing on a market analysis, elaborating the user experience on the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Google+, also from a marketing perspective including brand engagement on social media. I have worked on an analysis about TamTamy’s offering and service, its match with market needs and a network comparison and evaluation of Reply Social Network and Networked events . I will also work on a competitive intelligence analysis about TamTamy’s competitors and business environment.

What ‘s your relation with the social media?

Social networks have been a perfect way for me to stay in touch with friends from all over the world. In times of studying abroad and travelling there is no better or easier way to stay updated, post important news and share pictures, where communication is integrated and easy to access. I use Facebook frequently to talk to friends and share interesting content and not to lose sight of old friends. Having become a Twitter user myself a couple of weeks ago, I like the idea of sharing interesting content and following people with fascinating views. It seems that the communication especially between brands and followers has become more and more interconnected which has shifted the way of marketing products. Since recently I have started exploring Google+, a pleasant alternative of Facebook with less feature overcrowding. It seems worthwhile using Google+, however, only few of my friends are already using this network.

What will be the best souvenirs collected during these days spent with us (people, facts…feel free ;)

My “best souvenirs” I have collected during my days with TamTamy is the pleasant  work environment with young, creative people combined with the Italian way of life, relaxing coffee breaks and Italian crash courses. From the second week on you find yourself speaking “with your hands”, maxing out your coffee consumption and eating Pizza and Pasta almost exclusively.

Absolutely “grande“!
